Wireless Troubleshooting

How do I replace my lost, accidentally damaged or stolen wireless device if I have Cell Phone Protection?

To Make a Claim:

  1. Contact Randolph Telephone by phone or at one of its locations immediately. In the case of stolen phones, the Customer will be liable for
    Cell phone protection
    unauthorized usage (including calls, texting and data) up to the time the Customer contacts Randolph Telephone to have the service suspended. The monthly service subscription will continue to be billed during suspension of service. The service will be restored when the Customer comes into a Randolph Telephone location for a replacement or if the Customer cancels claim.
  2. Customer should bring their cell phone number, and damaged cell phone or in the case of lost or stolen, the phone make and model, to Randolph Telephone's location for a replacement.
  3. Randolph Telephone will transfer contacts and other data from the original phone to the replacement at no charge if the phones are compatible and the original phone is not damaged to the point that this data cannot be transferred. The Customer must bring the phone to Randolph Telephone's Retail location at the Specialty Shops on Hwy 42 North (177-H NC Hwy 42 North, Asheboro) for this service.
  4. The deductible will be due at the time of the claim.

What do I do if my phone freezes?

  1. Turn phone off and take battery out.
  2. Wait 2 minutes and turn back on.
  3. If problem persists contact a Customer Care Consultant at 336-879-5684.

What to do if my battery will not stay charged?

  1. Turn the phone off and then back on.
  2. Take the battery off and put it back on.
  3. If battery still doesn't charge, then you may need new battery.

Is there an activation fee?

Yes, $35 per phone number (or phone line).

How do I setup email on my smartphone?

iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

Important: If you are currently using the Gmail App to access your rtmc.net email, instructions can be found for disconnecting that app here: Moving Away from the Gmail App

Step 1. Locate your email settings:

  • On your iPhone or iPad, open Settings (typically on your homescreen)
  • Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

Step 2. In the Accounts section, tap your email account.

Note: If your account is not listed, click on Add Account, then Other, the Add Mail Account then complete the form. You can then skip to step 4 below.

Step 3. Tap your email address.

Step 4. Update your INCOMING MAIL SERVER settings:

  • Edit the Host Name field to: pop.rtmc.net
  • Ensure the User Name is your full @rtmc.net email address.
  • Once complete, tap the SMTP button

Step 5. Add a new SMTP Server

  • Tap the Add Server... button.

Step 6. Set up the SMTP server settings

  • In the Host Name field enter: smtp.rtmc.net
  • In the User Name field enter: Your full@rtmc.net email address
  • In the Password field enter: Your email password
  • Tap Save

And you're done. You can add additional accounts by repeating the same steps above.

Android Device
Step 1. Add your account.

  • From your home screen, open the Applications Drawer
  • Scroll through to find and click on Settings
  • Within the settings page scroll down and click on +Add account


Step 2. Within the Add an Account screen, find and click on Email

Step 3. From with in the email Account setup screen, enter in your email address and password.

Step 4. You should now be able to click on Manual setup

Step 5. Select IMAP.

Step 6. Populate the IMAP Settings

  • In the Server field enter: imap.rtmc.net
  • Click on the Security type drop down and select SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
  • Ensure the port is displaying 993

Click Next to continue...

Step 7. Populate the SMTP Settings

  • In the server field enter: smtp.rtmc.net
  • Click on the Security type drop down and select SSL/TLS (Accept all certificates)
  • Update the port to 465
  • Ensure the box for Require Signin is checked
  • Username is your @rtmc.net email address
  • Password is your email password

Click Next to continue...

Step 8. Choose your account settings then click Next

Enabling/Disabling Call Forwarding

To Activate:

  1. Press *72.
  2. Enter the phone number where you want calls to be forwarded. (e.g. *72-908-123-4567).
  3. Press SEND and wait for confirmation. You should hear a confirmation tone or a message.
  4. Press END.

To Deactivate:

  1. Press *73.
  2. Press SEND and wait for confirmation. You should hear a confirmation tone or a message.
  3. Press END.
